Salmon has a very versatile personality; it can be baked, stir fried, grilled, blackened or poached. The fish stands up well to strong flavours including chilli, ginger, sesame, soy and garlic.

The fish stands up well to strong flavours including chilli, ginger, sesame, soy and garlic. This versatile oil-rich fish is a popular restaurant choice but you can work wonders with it at home too. 
 
Our Salmon is sold as boneless fillets which makes them very easy to prepare and are from the Shetland Islands in Scotland and are individually vacuum packed. 

It is very important to consider the side dishes, ingredients of the main meal, sauces and method of cooking before pairing it with the perfect wine partner. 

As a general rule, rich oily fish like Salmon pair wonderfully with full bodied white wines like oak-aged Chardonnay, Viognier, white Rioja and white Burgundy. However, depending on the preparation method and sauce, you can easily pair Salmon with rosé or low-tannin red wines. For example, Pinot Noir with its low tannin content and light red fruity flavour is fantastic with grilled or blackened Salmon and also our featured Salmon En Croûte.
